Hall, Klepetka Named Volleyball Players of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – UIW sophomore middle blocker Bryaunea Hall was named Southland Conference Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sophomore libero Kate Klepetka was named Defensive Player of the Week presented by UniversalCoin.com, the league announced Monday.
Offensive Player of the Week – Bryaunea Hall, UIW
Hall led the Cardinals this past week with 13 kills in each match while hitting over .400 in both matches. The Copperas Cove, Texas (Copperas Cove HS), native’s 26 kills (3.75 kills/set) and .453 hitting percentage helped the Cardinals win both conference matches this week. She also had six blocks during the week.

Defensive Player of the Week – Kate Klepetka, A&M-Corpus Christi
Klepetka elevated her game along the Islanders back line to another level this week, averaging 8.14 digs per set. As the anchor of the Islanders’ conference-leading defense, the Allen, Texas (Allen HS), native increased her season digs per set average back above six to 6.09, which should land her second nationally in the Monday statistics update. Klepetka had a great match against McNeese, helping the Islanders rally after dropping the opening set for a 3-1 win. The libero had 34 digs in that match, three shy of the A&M-Corpus Christi record.
