Jordan Howard Earns Southland Player of the Week Honors

2016-17 Southland Men's Basketball Week 14 Notes (PDF)

FRISCO, Texas
– Junior point guard Jordan Howard of Central Arkansas is the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by UniversalCoin.com. The Conference made the announcement Monday.
 
Howard scored 33 points on just 13 shots in a 107-97 win over Northwestern State on Feb. 2, hitting 4 of 6 from three-point range and 9 of 13 overall. Two days later, he put up 14 points in a narrow 68-66 win over Southeastern Louisiana, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 2.2 seconds left. He was 6 of 11 from three-point range and 13 of 15 from the free throw line in week 13. The Chandler, Ariz. native shot 58.3 percent from the field and 54.5 from three-point range.
 
The Bears have won two straight and will host Abilene Christian (10-12, 4-7 SLC) in their next match-up on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
