FRISCO, Texas – McNeese’s Savannah LaRicci and Lamar teammates Amelia Fullmer and Lauren Lovejoy were named the Southland Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. LaRicci was voted Offensive Player of the Week and Fullmer was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week. Lovejoy earned Goalkeeper of the Week distinction for the third time in four weeks this season.

Lamar and McNeese both open conference play at home on Friday, with the Cardinals (5-2-1, 0-0 SLC) hosting Nicholls (2-4-0, 0-0 SLC) and McNeese (4-2-1, 0-0 SLC) hosting Southeastern Louisiana (2-4-1, 0-0 SLC). Both games kick off at 7 p.m. CT. Lamar currently holds the top spot in the league standings with 16 points while McNeese is second with 13.
Offensive Player of the Week: Savannah LaRicci, McNeese – Sr. – Forward – Sugar Land, Texas
LaRicci tallied six points in two games and 99 minutes played in week three when the Cowgirls notched a pair of 4-0 wins at home against Southern and on the road at Prairie View A&M. She earned one assist in each match along with a goal of her own against the Jaguars and Panthers. She leads the Cowgirls with 23 total shots, good for third most in the conference.

Defensive Player of the Week: Amelia Fullmer, Lamar – Jr. – Defender – Pleasant Grove, Utah
Fullmer continued her solid defensive play for the Cardinals. She played all 110 minutes against Houston and helped the Cardinals to their fourth-straight shutout and fifth of the season. She leads all Cardinals field players with 661 minutes played this season. Fullmer helps anchor a defense that ranks second in the league in goals allowed (six in eight games), goals against average (0.73 per game in 740 minutes) and is tied for first with McNeese in shutouts (five).

Goalkeeper of the Week: Lauren Lovejoy, Lamar – Sr. – Goalkeeper – Port Neches, Texas
Lovejoy earned her third Goalkeeper of the Week award of the season after extending her shutout streak to four games and her scoreless string to 391 minutes, 10 seconds – both school records. She registered clean sheet road wins against Texas Southern, 3-0, and Houston, 0-0. Lovejoy capped the week with a season-high nine saves against Houston. She has five shutouts this season, one shy of the program record.
