BEAUMONT, Texas
– For one school a thrilling upset and for another a heartbreaking end to the season as No. 7 Stephen F. Austin upset No. 2 Houston Baptist 1-0 behind an 88th minute gamewinner scored by sophomore Katelyn Termini.

Each school’s net-minder was forced to make four saves each, including a pair each in the final 15 minutes, as the teams couldn’t be separated in the first period. The closest call came on a Mari Gillespie free kick that ricocheted off the top bar and goalie Alanis Guevara’s outstretched hand.
It seemed as though the Ladyjacks would break up the scoreless affair in the 82nd minute as Termini orchestrated a long run into the box and rocketed one on goal, but sophomore defender Kaimyn Beal intercepted the shot on the line.

Six minutes later, Termini created another opportunity after collecting a pass from senior Breanna Moore, dribbling into the box and finishing past Guevara to the lower left corner.
SFA advances to Friday’s semifinal round and awaits the winner of the final quarterfinal between No. 3 Lamar and No. 6 Southeastern Louisiana.
