SFA’s Bogues Earns Weekly Honors After 33-Point Output
FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin guard Shannon Bogues is the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland Conference Players of the Week are presented by
MidSouth Bank.
Bogues award comes one week after teammate Kevon Harris claimed the recognition.

Bogues drained 12-of-18 shots, including an SFA program-record nine three-pointers, in a 96-93 loss to Louisiana Tech on Friday (Dec. 7). The guard tallied 33 points while dishing out seven assists in a career-high 44 minutes of action.
The Killeen, Texas, product’s nine makes from beyond the arc are just two shy of the Southland record of 11 (SHSU’s Corey Almond, SHSU vs. Kentucky in 2009; LU’s Mike James vs. Louisiana College in 2011).
Bogues, currently averaging 16.6 points per game, is a member of the 2018-19 Southland Preseason All-Conference team. Last year, he earned all-conference honors and selected to the Southland all-tournament team.
