Stephen F. Austin's Ramirez and Campbell Tabbed Women's Indoor Athletes of the Week
FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin swept the Indoor Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week after stellar performances by Kelsey Ramirez Nastassja Campbell. All Southland weekly awards are presented by
MidSouth Bank.
The Ladyjack tandem pushed their squad to a fifth- place team-finish at Texas A&M’s Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station, Texas this past weekend. Ramirez appeared in the mile and distance medley relay events, while Campbell topped the field in the pole vault event.
Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – Kelsey Ramirez, Stephen F. Austin – So. – La Porte, Texas
Ramirez had a hand in two school record performances over the weekend, beginning with Friday’s distance medley relay, where she ran a 4:53.56 split in the 1600m leg to help SFA’s team set a school record in the event with an 11:56.30. The sophomore continued to rewrite the history books in the mile run, as she finished second overall with a school record time of 4:52.48. SFA’s distance medley relay team owns the top mark in the Southland Conference, as does Ramirez in the mile run for the 2019 season.

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Nastassja Campbell, Stephen F. Austin – Fr. – New Caney, Texas
The freshman set the 2019 Southland Conference best mark in addition to the NCAA’s third best mark for the pole vault event following a vault of 14-4.75 in her collegiate debut at the Ted Nelson Invitational.
